When installed SMS admin console on Windows 7 it would not expand the Query tree so I couldn't remote control any machine (The same problem can affect Windows Vista)
It turns out the problem is the Windows Firewall blocks the inbound WMI connections, so you could either turn off the firewall or create rules that allow the connection

Error message when you try and connect an Xbox 360 extender up to Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 with Service
Pack 3: "There is a problem with the installation of Windows XP Media
Center Edition 2005"
This is due to a registry setting missing and can be fixed by downloading a fix from Microsoft 895961 which corrects the error "The Windows Media Center Extender service cannot create the sub-desktop session on a Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based computer"
